The DB BR 143 is a German electric locomotive built for Deutsche Reichsbahn, the state operator of railways in East Germany, during the 1980s. The locomotives were designed to a maximum speed of 120 km/h as that was the highest safe speed on most parts of the East German rail network. After reunification, the DB BR 143 became dispersed across Germany, primarily operating passenger services.
The DB BR 143 is featured in the Ruhr Sieg Nord, Nahverkehr Dresden & Tharandter Rampe DLC routes for Train Sim World, serving as the primary passenger locomotive along with Doppelstockwagen carriages and driving van trailer. It is also possible to run freight services using this loco & can use them to run some Regio and S-Bahn services on the routes..
Owners of DB BR 143s Ruhr Sieg Nord can also be used as a substitute on Main-Spessart Bahn, Rhein-Ruhr Osten, Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr, Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen & Hauptstrecke München – Augsburg.
